Stannic Oxide, also known as tin(IV) oxide or cassiterite, is a widely used inorganic compound. It’s the most stable oxide of tin and occurs naturally as the mineral cassiterite.
**Chemical Formula:** SnO₂
**Appearance:** A white, odorless, and insoluble solid
**Uses:**
**Electronics and Optoelectronics:** It combines optical transparency with electrical conductivity, making it ideal for these applications.

**White Pigment:** It is used as a white pigment in paints, coatings, and plastics.
**Polishing Agent (Limited):** Limited historical use as a polishing agent due to its abrasive nature.
